Undergraduate history majors may apply for funds to attend/present at conferences outside the immediate driving area of Miami (a 50 mile radius).  These funds are also available for History majors engaged in research projects (in particular, but not exclusively, Honors Theses).  Awards are limited to a one-time grant of $250; generally four such awards are available during a given academic year.  To apply, the student should write directly to the Director of Undergraduate Studies, Professor Martin Nesvig (mnesvig@miami.edu;historydugs@miami.edu), providing the following information: a description of the conference, a budget, and information about other grants for which s/he has applied. Students are also expected to apply for similar funds from the Office of Undergraduate Research and Community Outreach at https://ugr.miami.edu/The UM History Club is registered with UM’s COSO and, as such, has access to funding for student research projects and conference attendance.  Please contact Professor Martin Nesvig (mnesvig@miami.edu) the Club’s faculty advisor or the Club’s president, Cameron Harvey (cdh126@miami.edu) for details.
